We have a vision for ministry at St John's that is uplifting, joyful, and nourishing for the soul. It involves people learning about Jesus and growing in discipleship as they seek to be active in the kingdom he proclaimed. It involves being a servant community in our city committed to outreach and issues of justice. It involves being good stewards of creation and of all the resources that have been placed in our hands.
A Welcome from the Rector
Welcome to our website! I hope you will find what you are looking for, whether it be our location or worship times (both of which are conveniently below), a little bit of history of the oldest church in Peterborough County, to listen to a sermon, or to just get a sense of who we are before you visit us in person. If you're curious about where to park, or what kids can do when they visit us, please visit our About page. One of the things that excited me about St John's when I was considering putting my name forward as Rector was that the parish wonderfully mixes traditional Anglican worship and parish life with a vibrant outreach ministry to our most vulnerable neighbours. We take seriously both of the Great Commandments of Jesus: love God and love your neighbour. If you read our mission statement above, you will see that St John's strives to embody joy in everything we do and that we are serious about being followers of Jesus who are committed to worshipping God, witnessing to the kingdom of justice and peace, and working towards meeting the needs of others. I hope that, if you have not visited in person, you will accept my personal invitation to join us for worship and fellowship and take a moment to introduce yourself to me.
I wish you every blessing in the name of Jesus,
